The Day of the Dead is my favorite holiday anywhere in the world!
It is a wonderful celebration of lost ones in Mexico which recognizes the beauty of, and deep respect for, each life.
Altars are built in front of houses, and celebrations are held in cemeteries. There is dancing, costumes, makeup…and a wall of skulls—each with a lost one’s name—where candles can be lit.
It all sounds very strange…but is just lovely to be part of.
Enjoy the pictures.
Beautiful! Must be amazing to see. Take care xoxo
Take care, eh! We are almost there!
