I have spent 3 weeks in San Francisco, the weather has been rainy, sunny and chilly, but I’m not complaining, I have a little suntan. Barbara and Stephen have been perfect hosts!!! And it has been nice to get to know Stephen a little better he has interesting business, tests houses for electro-magnetic activity, usually in Celebrity homes (I think you have to have money for this service). Barbara

is a very clever businesswoman (I would never want to negotiate a deal with her, she would win every time). My old and dear friend Michael

came for a visit and we went to Sonoma for couple of days.

I also drove to Mendocino along Northern coastal highway, amazing scenery!!

It is a very small town with hippies and very right wing people; it’s an odd combination. I stayed in a very eccentric hotel, that was lovely, but it had a marine toilet (must have gotten a deal). Other than that, I just hung out, I went to couple of events, and spent some time in city etc. Barbara introduced me to Keith Axtell, and his wife Holly, he is head of the Rotary Club International here, but my interest was that he has same name as my maiden name Axtell (there are very few of us around, plus if you meet one they are usually related). They are a lovely couple; they took me to dinner and gave me piles of information. This is very important to me, I know very little of my history, because my Father died when I was very young, my mother was ill, and I was only child, plus, no relatives.
I also spent hours on phone trying to sort out why US customs in Toronto put VISA in my passport, then I finally spoke to State Department (I think it is sorted out), but I won’t know for sure until I cross again. I also have 4 friends in Brussels and I sent them emails when I heard of the attacks, they all replied and are fine, (the world is not a friendly place)
I am going back to Toronto with a busy calendar until I leave for UK (I am very excited!!!)
Happy Easter, Happy Passover, and Spring!!!!
P.S Homelessness seems to be large issue here!!

Hi Betty Thanks so much for this note. We love Mendocino, so know where you have been and are glad you enjoyed it! We are cruising between Shanghai and Beijing and will be away until April 25th, so you won’t hear much from me until after we get home! Meantime, take care and have fun! Love Prue
