Well, the big 80 finally happened, and it was just amazing. I decided to have a party, and friends offered me their beautiful home. I was just delighted.
You can throw a party here for about 10 percent of what it would cost in Canada.
I hired a father-and-son group called Black Strings. They are quite famous here. I have heard them many times and they play all types of music: rock, classical, etc. They deserve to be famous.
The invited guests included friends from Namaste, my friends in the Ajijic community, and—the icing on the cake—friends and family that flew in for the party. I was so surprised and thrilled!!! Guests included my grandaughter, her mother Rochelle (I call Rochelle my daughter), Michael (a friend of 40 years from Fresno, California), Ottarr and Svandborg from (believe it or not) Iceland, Barbara (who lives in San Miguel, Mexico), and Sr Anabelli (a BK from Courvecia, Mexico…the BK’s have been part of my life for so many years).
It was an absolutely amazing birthday. The chefs from Namaste, Jett and Luis, went to Costco in Guadalajara, brought all the food, and arranged drinks and everything for the party 🥳. I couldn’t have managed without them. My friend Pam hosted a cocktail party for the guests from out of town. And my out of town guests took me for a special dinner on my actual birthday. All in all, it was a birthday to remember forever!!
My friend Suzanne, a beautiful singer, sang MY WAY, which brought me to tears . We will see what is next in my life!
