Well, I ventured out of Mexico for the first time in quite a while.
First of all I visited the Brahma Kumaris (BK) centre in Cuernavaca for four days, which is about one-and-a-half hours from Mexico City…or a 10-hour bus ride for me. Thankfully, the buses are very fancy and totally safe. The gentleman who owns the bus companies used to design buses for the rock stars!
Next stop was Miami, where I was picked up at the airport by Rochelle—who I call a daughter. She is the wife of David and mother to two of my grandkids: Megan and Ben. David is the son of Allan, who passed away a couple of years ago. I was in a 15-year relationship with Allan and we spent a lot of time in Florida in a condo that is now winter home to David and Rochelle.
For me, it felt like going back in time. The last time I had seen the condo was in 2008. Lots of memories, as a lot of the stuff Allan and I had put in the condo was still there. The kids had done a wonderful job of blending the old with the new. We also visited the old haunts which was fun.
Shopping was next on the agenda, buying lots of stuff I can’t find in Mexico like shoes, underwear, etc. And BONUS: Macy’s had a 40%-off sale! Rochelle very kindly drove me around to the malls. It was fun! A great trip.
The other thing we did was visit the Homestead Race Track, which is home to NASCAR in this part of the world. They were having tryouts, which made for a fun afternoon.
But…I still love Mexico!

Hi Betty, I’m so glad you are traveling and having a blast. You look great! We are off to northern Portugal. Lots of decisions to make when I return. Life in America is difficult to watch these days. On a lighter note, everything else is good. Sending love, Kathy
